Skin Brightening Apple Cider Vinegar Face Toner

Hey there, skincare enthusiasts!

If you’re looking for a natural, effective, and wallet-friendly solution to improve your skin, look no further than apple cider vinegar. Yes, you heard that right!

This humble ingredient can work wonders as a face toner, giving you that fresh and glowing complexion you’ve always dreamed of.

So, what exactly is a face toner?

It’s a quick-absorbing liquid product that you apply after cleansing to freshen and exfoliate your skin. Not only does it enhance skin clarity and reduce pore size, but it also helps your skin absorb the serums and moisturizers you apply afterward.

Now, why does your skin need a toner?

Your skin has a delicate acid mantle with a pH of around 5. Unfortunately, most cleansers are more alkaline, which can disrupt this delicate balance. Cue the apple cider vinegar toner to the rescue! With its slightly acidic pH of around 3-4, this toner helps restore your skin’s natural pH and helps prevent disease, infection, and even wrinkles long term.

But wait, there’s more!

Apple cider vinegar is packed with potassium, pectin, malic acid, and calcium, this fermented goodness is a powerhouse of nutrients. It’s antiseptic and antibacterial, making it a fantastic option for tackling skin infections, acne, and even eczema. Plus, it can fade sun and age spots, improve acne scars, and remove excess oils and makeup residue. It’s like a complete skincare package in a bottle!

Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of making your very own apple cider vinegar toner.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Raw apple cider vinegar
  • Filtered water

And if you want to take it up a notch, feel free to add these optional ingredients:

  • 2-3 drops of essential oil (lavender or tea tree are great choices)
  • 1 teaspoon hydrosol (rose or orange will add a refreshing touch)
  • 1 teaspoon witch hazel (ideal for oily skin)

Customize your toner to your skin type with these simple ratios:

  • For sensitive skin: Mix 3/4 cup filtered water with 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
  • For normal/dry skin: Mix 2/3 cup filtered water with 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar.
  • For oily skin: Mix 1/2 cup filtered water with 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar.

Here’s how to make and apply your ACV toner:

  1. Pour apple cider vinegar into a glass jar.
  2. Add filtered water.
  3. If desired, add essential oils, hydrosol, or witch hazel. Give it a good shake.
  4. Using a cotton pad, lightly rub the toner on your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
  5. Alternatively, store the toner in a spray bottle and mist it directly on your skin throughout the day to freshen up.

Remember, it’s always a good idea to do a patch test first and start with the sensitive skin ratio. You can gradually increase the amount of apple cider vinegar as your skin gets used to it.

So, there you have it, folks! Say goodbye to store-bought toners filled with harmful ingredients (hormone disrupters & carcinogens) and hello to a natural, DIY solution that will let your skin shine like never before!
